Synopsis

The renown square of hawkers, snake charmers and story tellers…one of them has a different kind of story to tell…a tale inspired by a 14th century Moroccan legend about a spirit in the form of a woman…a woman by the name of Kandisha from the Spanish word “Contessa,” countess.

Morocco, present time. A woman is held captive by a ruthless husband. He dies. She is accused of murder. She claims she didn’t do it. She says she was avenged by Kandisha. But who will listen to her, who will believe her…let alone defend her…perhaps someone vulnerable to believe, someone like Nyla Jade, a criminal defense attorney who is still grieving the death of her daughter…

Between reality and fiction, truth and legend, what is it that really lies beneath the surface. How palpable is the world of spirits, the dead and the unseen. There are things we cannot comprehend…there are things we cannot grasp…but there are things we can feel…if only we can reach out and close our eyes…and barely, just barely, touch the tip of something so perfect, that it can only be told by te ones beyond…
